The Green Planet is Dubai’s premier indoor tropical rainforest, located in the City Walk district. It is a massive bio-dome that houses and sustains an entire ecosystem with over 3,000 plants and animals, all centered around the world’s largest indoor life-sustaining tree.
The Green Planet allows visitors to explore the rainforest through four distinct levels, representing the different strata of a natural forest:
The Canopy (30-45 meters above ground): This layer forms the roof of the rainforest, offering a panoramic view of the entire dome and showcasing the upper layers where the most sunlight is absorbed.
The Midstory: Full of exotic creatures and birds, including Macaws, Parrots, Toucans, and various butterflies and insects like Leaf Cutter Ants.
The Forest Floor: This layer is home to amphibians in glass enclosures, slithering reptiles, and other insects.
โThe Flooded Rainforest: The base of the biodome, where visitors can observe the aquatic life that thrives in a tropical rainforest’s water ecosystem.
Major Highlights
The Life-Sustaining Tree: Witness the massive, man-made tree at the heart of the biodome, which is the largest of its kind indoors.
Animal Encounters: The venue offers several “Wild Encounters” where you can get up close with animals like Sloths, Toucan, Reptiles, Armadillos, and even Echidnas (often requiring separate fees/bookings).
Treehouse Adventure Trail: An activity area featuring slides and viewing platforms, typically designed for children (Max 70kg weight & Max 150cm height restriction).
Creatures of the Night: A dedicated section that showcases the fascinating nocturnal inhabitants of the rainforest ecosystem.
